Description: Calling all citizen scientists! It’s time to get serious about observing the changes in Earth’s climate happening right now! In this engaging program, students will learn what causes Earth’s climate to change and how scientists observe those changes. Students will participate in a variety of activities to get a deeper understanding of the way humans use energy resources, how humans observe the Earth’s climate, and of the ways they can get involved in reducing humans’ contributions to climate change. Students will even get to use VR headsets to investigate geographical and solar impacts on Earth’s climate! Over the course of this field trip students will design a climate monitoring satellite, create a green plan wheel to reduce their personal contributions to climate change, and assemble a renewable energy take home project!
