In-School Field Trips
Description: Eureka! Let’s travel through time to discover the foundations of buoyancy and flight. Together, we will take the plunge with Archimedes and Pirate Zheng Yi Sao to investigate forces acting in water to make objects float or sink. Like Leonardo Da Vinci and Amelia Earhart, we will explore the forces of flight needed to soar high above the earth. There are INCREDIBLE FORCES at work in AIR and WATER to make objects float and fly. Have you ever wondered how these forces are the same and how are they different? Through a series of controlled experiments, students will examine these forces acting in a variety of fluids. But that’s not all…Students will also dive into buoyancy and gravity by constructing a submarine. Then, we will propel into thrust and drag by designing amazing airplanes! You won’t have to force anyone to have fun during this field trip!
Format: Our experienced presenters deliver curriculum-based field trips right in your classroom.
