Enhance your learning experience!
This program can be delivered as:
In-School Field Trips
Description: Meet Edison! This programmable robot is great for multiple grade levels. Students will build, code & explore robotic engineering in a dynamic, discovery-based process. Student groups will code their Edison robots to carry out challenges and achieve various outcomes, using their creativity (and building blocks!) to create their own Edison robotic monsters! In this program, students have Edison scan various barcodes to activate pre-set programs in the robot. Your students will have fun and be amazed with this screen-free coding program.
Format: Our experienced presenters deliver curriculum-based field trips right in your classroom.
Duration: 2 hours
Volunteers:
Grade 2-3: 1 per 4 students recommended
Grade 4-6: 1 per 6 students recommended
Teacher Provides: Laptop/computer, SmartBoard/projector and internet access; Please print 1 worksheet per 2 students (Link to access worksheet will be in your reminder email); Pencils (1 per 2 students)
Available Programs
There are 3 programs available for the Edison Robotics Series:
Edison Robot Explorers (Gr. 2-6)

Edison Software Design: EdBlocks (Gr. 2-6)
Students learn to use this drag-and-drop programming language to code Edison robots. This type of programming language is easy for young learners new to coding using a computer. These robots will amaze your students and spark their curiosity!
Edison Software Design: EdScratch (Gr. 5-6)
EdScratch is a vertical block based coding language for the Edison robot. This program uses computers to create the programs and is designed for older or more experienced students.
