Multi-Grade (K-6)
Coding Explorations
Mazes
Curricular Highlights
- Explorations: Students will learn how coding works, and how it can be applied to the real world. They use creativity and design principles to create their own codes to achieve various outcomes demonstrating the importance of sequencing. Following instructions, collaborating, problem solving, identifying outcomes, creating a sequence, testing, reworking, refining instructions, and determining if outcomes were achieved are all part of the Coding Explorations program.
- Organizing Idea: Problem solving and scientific inquiry are developed through the knowledgeable application of creativity, design, and computational thinking.

In-School Field Trips
Description: Get lost in the world of coding while designing and problem solving to avoid obstacles and overcome challenges. Students will look at basic coding principles and how coding works. They will be challenged to design, create, and test a variety of mazes, coding people, objects and robots to reach a goal. Using knowledge learned, students test, problem solve and rework their mazes to ensure a desired outcome. Using fun programmable mice to navigate the mazes, this is an engaging program that will have students thinking about computational design. Will your mouse get to the cheese?
Format: Our experienced presenters deliver curriculum-based field trips right in your classroom.
