Description: In this fun and fast-paced program, you’ll take on the roles of community leaders to discover how Alberta is governed. From mayors and reeves to premiers and MLAs, you’ll explore who’s in charge, what their roles are, and how their decisions affect everyone. Through role-playing, and hands-on activities, you’ll learn how local and provincial governments provide important services—like parks, schools, and hospitals—and even get to simulate making big decisions for your own mock community. Along the way, you’ll uncover unique provincial symbols like the wild rose and the bighorn sheep, gaining a better understanding of how Alberta works—governed by the leaders of tomorrow!
